To let the movement be heard or to make the sound visible through performance. Liminal Electronica  is a project, by Antonio Della Marina, that aims to fuse three languages based on a common denominator—oscillation—combined with expressive elements of repetition, variation, and symmetry. The project involves three artists responsible for the composition of Sound, Light, and Movement, respectively. With speakers integrated into the performer’s body and the use of electronic sounds tuned to the dimensions and acoustic characteristics of the room, movement allows sound to manifest clearly, and the project aims to deepen experimentation with this particular effect. The sound on stage is motionless—static. It is purely harmonic and vertical. The performer contributes to the sound composition through movement, generating horizontal elements: rhythm and melody. Sound and movement are not simply synchronized because sound is movement, and vice versa, without the possibility of establishing a hierarchy. What you see is what you hear. A white space is the only element of the scenography. Light becomes the fluid in which the performer moves. By playing with shadows, color, intensity, and contrast, it highlights gestures and profiles, but it can also become pulsation, rhythm, and movement in turn.
